Getting The Most Out Of Drupal For SEO

,
Whether you are planning to start an online business or are a seasoned pro wanting to learn new ways to improve your business and ultimately your bottom line, then driving traffic to your website ought to be a high priority for you.

One of the most common ways to drive traffic to a website is through organic rankings from effective search engine optimization. So what exactly is SEO and how do you go about getting results. Think of it as two sides to a coin. On one side you have onsite optimization which involves techniques that you can do to improve your overall rankings for specific keyword or keyword phrases. On the other side of the coin is offsite optimization, involving strategic links from relevant websites.

I often encounter the opinion that SEO is a waste of time and money, that there is simply too much competition. Or, search engine algorithms change so frequently that it is too difficult to keep up to date with the information. So what is a website owner to do. Buy a bunch of links and hope for the best? That is about as effective as making business decisions on a coin toss. There is definitely an easier way.

The SEO industry as a whole is full of controversy, which is why I find it so fascinating. Debate surrounds many procedures concerning what works and what doesn't, or what is considered ethical verses tactics that cross the line into "black hat" territory. The information you may encounter can be confusing at best, contradictory at worst. It is true that many techniques that used to work, no longer do.

I hope to demystify some of the process by covering some basic techniques using Drupal that you can use to improve your overall web site optimization. One of the main issues that Drupal sites face with regards to optimization is duplicate content which I address ways to combat this. Lastly, I will be introducing to you some advanced SEO strategies that provide a solid foundation for your site linking structure and targeted theme that will help you withstand the future changes in the search engine algorithms that usually send many SEO’s scrambling when they lose their rankings.
